simple Calculations
i'm counting down to something. but to wat exactly, i really have no idea. to the end of yet another day at work? to the weekend? to when i'd see him next? to the end of the month? to when i'd finally be really ok? to my birthday? to 2007? to when i make my first 1 million bucks? to my future? whatever it may be? i really have no idea.
counting down seems to bring hope. count down to the days to your next holiday, to the new year, to the time you see your loved ones. counting down gets more extreme (well, emotions-wise) when THE DAY approaches. tat is, if u noe exactly when THE DAY is.
there seems to be so much to hope for. there seems to be even more to live for. i don't know if its cos i've had a comfy life so far, but i can't seem to find any goal in life. (i got asked this qn in the car today by my company's chairman) is it strange if all i just want is to be happy, and lead a meaningful life? then again, the word 'meaningful' in itself is ambiguous. happiness too. cos these aren't measurables. they're intangibles.
but since when does life have to be measured in such a fashion? ppl measure how great their life has been by the no of successful kids they've raised, by the size of their cars, by material goods, academic certs, pay, etc etc. fair enough, cos most of the time, these things are achieved thru ur hard work and effort. (but those of u who have read the article in female? or her world? on how rich girls stay rich will beg to differ haha)
why dont we count up anyways? like in dance, we say 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4... cos.. then again, when u countdown, it somehow signals the end of something, rather than the start of it?
i'm counting down. shld i? yes, i'm still counting down. to my very last breath. only then, will i stop counting down.
