This is on behalf of yesterday

before i start..i just have to say...

I"M SO GLAD TO BE HOME!!!!! I"M SO GLAD TO BE BACK!!!

hehhe okie on to yesterday's thots and ramblings...

Was woken up by a call fr my grandaunt late at night. she and gran and cousins were at shenzhen, and apparently were given 10 boxes of lychees to bring back to sg. 10!! so we were to meet them to hand carry 2 boxes back. but seeing as how many boxes of confectionery we ourselves were carrying, i had to decline politely. my poor cousins. wonder how the trip has been for them. from my cousin's sms, boring and sian were probably 2 of the most apt adjectives.
but wat do u expect? when u have such a long and complicated itinerary, and travel companions whose interests you don't realy share, where time isn't really urs cos u dun have much of a say. wat can u do? such holidays are too tiring for me.

if anything, a holiday shld consist of ppl who more or less share the same agenda as u do, which explains why all trips apart fr indo were so much fun. u've gotta got with ppl who share common interests, and expectations of the trip, who dun try and spoil ur holiday, who are easy going, and game for (almost) everything, who u can talk to, who know u, who are willing to give and take, who aren't stingy or overly calculative.

cos going with stingy ppl means tat my pockets will be empty before long, and i'd be too paiseh to ask for my money back. being overly calculative jus takes the fun out of everythin cos u always have to keep extremely close track on ur expenses. being in the tax dept just isn't my cup of tea.

but despite wat holidays are supposed to be, to me, they're like weekends. cos i end up being more tired (tho happily so), cos when u're having a great time, u jus can't bear to rest. instead, u try to capture and seize as much time as u have in the place, savour every min & second, hoping to fil up as many happy pages in ur life's diary. carpe diem, isn't it?

my time in hk wasn't filled with bubbly laughter, or excited chatter thru out; rather, it was filled with quiet contemplative moments. simply cos most of the time, i was either alone, or with my mom, who gave me space cos i guess she knew i needed it to sort out myself. back in sg, i won't have tat luxury of time to think abt so much, cos i'd be busying myself to stop thinking, more than anything else. here, i've got frens to disturb (heheh), work to fuss over, family matters to attend to, whereas in hk, i have virtually none. only me, my mind, my heart and my pen.

but one thing's for sure. out of all the palces i've been to before, i'd still choose sg. (tho i wish it had the beaches and idyllic atmosphere of langkawi, + cheap shopping like chatuchak, + good cheap food like gurney drive + cool weather like malang). I'd be singapore's most active ambassador. i swear.

thinking out loud at 9:48 PM
