the nation on its feet

its the nation's birthday today. there is something interesting watching your president drive around the stadium, waving to the spectators. i realise that this man was really something. when he waved, he not jus waved to everyone. it seemed that he was waving to every single person. he waved to those high above him, and didn't forget those seated closer to him. i dont really noe how to describe wat i saw. i jus had respect for this man. of course some of u might rem i have grievances abt him and the grass at sentosa. but still, this pt was driven home. tat the head of our state, was but a man. an old man, kindly old man, who brought his children along for functions, who sat his grandson on his lap while they drove away, who walked his dog. yet millions of singaporeans cheered him on as he made his way around the stadium. it must be his character, his kind nature which endeared us singaporeans to him.

there are quite a few political figures worthy of mentioning in singapore's history. of course, most name LKY. true, that man deserves many stars for making me happy and comfy living in sg. but wat he has in vision and brains, he lacks in the human touch seen in SM goh (of course i have much to say abt his wife). i also thot president wee khim wee was a good man, who continued to serve the nation way after he stepped down. mmm who else? lee jr has also done a good job, he used to be proud and all high and mighty, but over the last 10 yrs or so, he has really really changed for the better. he's definitely more personable for one. i thot RA teo did a good job previously as the education minister, and i like khaw boon wan as well. think he handled sars and all tat well. small, unassuming man who has substance.

i hope i dun get sued or anything for writing on political figures. if anything, i shld be let off cos its national day?
