remembering the weekend
weekends seem to get better all the time. tho it seems i dont get the rest i shld be getting on weekends, the time spent is definitely well spent on both meself and me frens.
met up with a fren on sat, heng he was the patient sort la hahah cos i was late. not my fault wor cos the damn bus was going as fast as i can walk. then headed off for movie marathon, where i officially watched lakehouse for the 2nd time. keanu reeves is still so hot..he looks better in matrix, but here he looks so much more..human. heheh. went back home but soon went off and hung out by the pool with fren, laid down on the ground, had tons of junk food and milk and choc, had tons of good laughs, some quiet reflective moments too. lots of my frens actually like my place, i do like it too, but for once, yest, i looked at my place in a diff light. i've sat downstairs so many times, but each time, its with a different feeling. a soothing, comfy, companionable sort of feeling. no matter wat, this place has seen me thru quite a bit tho i've only been here for abt 5 yrs or so?
OVer the weekend, it was kitty rescue week! apparently me fren found 3 kittens, so young they haven't even opened their eyes. but sooooo cute lor, like 3 springrolls whahhaha but they were abandoned with no one to take care of them.. =0(
my heart just melts looking at these pics. but not as much as i cupped one in my palms. they're so tiny lor, but so cute cos they got quite active after being fed, haha quite feisty. u jus cant help but be amazed at their fighting spirit. i mean they are barely days old, and abandoned leh. but so sweet seeing the 3 of them together.. my 3 little springrolls.. hehe
sunday also interesting. was awakened at 9.. (thanks, my dear alarm clock) then chiong to get dressed and all tat to watch a fren's performance. my alarm clock picked me up, we had a tough time trying to figure out the location..hahha he very funny, in tat short span of 3 hrs he covered all the expressways in singapore cept for SLE and CTE. eheheh but wah lau. pia down there liao jus in time to see my fren exit gracefully off stage. my fren's legs longer, got there faster so managed to see a turn and curtsey before the exit. i'm such a loser. -_-'
ah well. better luck next time then.
had a good dinner too. with the whole family at gran's. realised i really missed them cos we havn'et gathered in quite some time. but as always, great food (there was so much i swear there was enuff for a buffet for 60) and some distant relatives who we haven't seen in ages. one of them hasn't been to gran's ever since the time she was my mom's bridesmaid lor!
then after a gigantinormous amount of food, it was durian time!!!!!!!!!!!!! cos before tat we went and bought like a hundred dollars worth of durians and mangosteens. ehehhe my cousin and me plopped ourselves down on the table and jus looked at my uncles expectantly cos they never open the durian! no open then how to eat!! but damn shiok leh, creamy one, bitter bitter, then small tiny seeds. yummyyyyyyy!!!!! hahah its at moments like this where u think why the heck do u need a man? whahhaha then we had a fight, cos we were choosing the best shells to make salt water. heheh mine very nice shape and deep somemore leh. *happy grin* its small things like this, the bantering, homely feeling, closeness of family or friends, the familiarity of it all tat just make your day.
so it is true. the best things in life, really are free.
