lessons learnt.

1) managing expectations is important. 3hits out of 4 recipes in 2 days, is still afterall, a 75% pass rate. commendable considering these recipes have never been tried before. so its ok if the mousse failed horribly. terribly. disgustingly. uhlweh.

2) there is no such thing called perfection. even after 4 batches of cupcakes, you jus gotta admit that cupcakes wil be cupcakes and they will never turn out 100% as wat u want them to.

3) baking is tiring. no kidding. i got the patience, but man.. my knee actually hurts.

4) baking can be a one-person affair. washing MUST be a many-ppl affair. i hate washing cos i like things oil free and squeaky clean but i hate the thot of having to use/waste so much water to do so.

5) washing and cleaning up is way more tiring than baking

6) food styling and photography is fun. the positioning, setting up, matching ribbons, multiple shots, adjusting lighting, exposure and the works. never knew i could be so patient.

7) its ok if ur own mother is not even half as appreciative than other ppl's parents. accept it.

8) korean dramas are way too draggy and cheesy for their own good. wah lau eh. mabbe i'm too much of a cynic.

9) when it comes to recipes (or anything else for the matter) read in between the lines. and in between the lines of those lines too.

10) i miss my big kitchen. =0(
