breather.

somedays, a mind boggling array of emails comes in and you wonder who the hell works on weekends cos u're pretty damned sure u cleared all email the friday before and then u realise almost all came in the very last hr of friday (indo's one hr behind us).

so while they were busy sending me emails, i was happily working and wala-ing, then zoo-ing and super-ring-ing.

and contrary to ethan, i quite liked ponyo. you spend 100min just drawn into the beautifully hand-drawn animation by miyazaki (the master himself) and captivated by ideas that, well just wont make much sense if you thought hard about it. but thats fine, i'm all for whimsically indulging my senses, and just for a moment letting my imagination go to places it can never go to in our daily rat race. funny isnt it, how a story can be so completely illogical, or irrelevant, and yet make such perfect sense?

it does, its our inner child speaking and its absolutely acceptable to be totally irrational, to dream of rainbows and magic, of stardust and fairies, mermaids and far away lands where everyone lived happily ever after.

anyway my thoughts are wandering ard at super speed and the dreamy state has kinda burst into something somewhat more cynical. i m just sceptical abt the sorta charity work we do, visits, gifts, donations etc. ignoring the gratification we get outta it, how often do we ask ourselves if the recipients felt as good as the givers? is it really a meal they want, or our old clothes or do they simply feel irked by the 'help' and 'concern' we shower cos they either dont want it or they dont believe its genuine? and what more can we do? if we thought about it as a symbiotically mutualistic relationship, how shld we then provide this help while retaining the feel-good factor, if that shld be considered at all? do we deliver the mantra of helping ppl cos they need it even if they dont want it?

its 607, i'm frazzled, tired and have cancelled on people tonight cos i am dying to study and sleep but my mom insists i have to go 'buy bedsheets and go balestier and choose new lights'. sometimes, i wish i had a sibling, and a functioning dad.
