respects.

still cant believe my 78yr old grandma got chided by the loud annoying woman who runs the temple for not coming to pray and burn offerings during qing ming last wk or so.

'清明一定要在清明! 不可以说忙就不来! 知道吗?'

and went on and on and on, in her extremely reproachful, disapproving tone.

i dont like this temple for various reasons.

1) they are money sucking vampires. u know the paper bags u use to put the joss paper in? and the 'name tag' thing u write to whom from whom the offerings are for? they cost a hefty 2 dollars each. for that filmsy thing! and their reno, not cheap wor. still dont see why there shld be a carp pond.

2) the aforementioned woman. the chief administrator. extremely callous, tactless, and forever concerned with $.

3) vegetarian places are not for my uncle and granddad. they need their durians and meats! lucky my grandma's other vege dishes rock.

4) EXPENSIVE. repeat of pt 1, but bo bian. the 灵位 oso expensive, the rituals oso expensive. i suspect we're being ripped off but have no say cos its not our side of the family that chose this place.

5) and still say my grandma! wat the. angry leh! NO RESPECT. 清明 is the WHOLE MTH. not jus THAT wk ok. why shld we come and squeeze with everyone else? another thot: isnt the risk of the offerings getting lost on their way to receiver higher when there's a super big influx of offerings at the same time? unless of cos, delivery services are much much more efficient.

so pls, when i die, dont get ripped off. and somewhere non vegetarian pls, like the 'german monastery with pork knuckle and beer' quote unquote tl. dont scatter my ashes too cos i dun wanna contribute to pollution. and of cos, DONT offer me foie gras or sharksfin. i swear i'll give u more than just a nightmare. hiaks.
